How much do you charge?
All Travellingbug projects cost £350, regardless of the amount of time you wish to volunteer. We believe volunteers should not be penalised for wanting to work for longer.

£100 of my fee is donated to the charity - how is the other £250 justified?
The rest of your fee contributes to our running costs. We make certain there is a genuine need for volunteers and finance on all of our projects, and to maintain a close relationship with each charity. Further, we are seeking the correct volunteers for the role, and establishing that they will be of benefit to the charity.

How does travelling independently reduce my costs?
UK travel companies will often include in their ‘gap-year-packages’ your accommodation, travel and food, but at a hugely inflated cost to create company profit. By travelling independently, you can ‘cut out the middle man’ and pay third world prices instead.

How does travelling independently increase my flexibility?
Without a travel company organising your whole trip for you, you can decide to go and see other places or do other things as you please. Travellingbug sets up a placement for you with a particular charity, but you are free to explore other parts of the country or continent in any time you are not working for the charity - be it either side of your placement, taking a week out (if arranged with the charities’ consent), or at the weekends.
